Meet the AAS Keynote Speaker: Prof. Mario Jurić

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory and LSST
Today, Jurić is a key figure in the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). This ambitious project aims to map the entire Southern night sky every three nights over the next decade, creating one of the most versatile and accessible datasets in astronomy. With LSST, Jurić expects to double the number of known asteroids within the next year and a half, and even triple them by the end of the survey. The project also aims to discover almost a factor of 7 more trans-Neptunian objects and a factor of 2 more potentially hazardous asteroids.
